Route Description for Bear Valley to Glen Camp Loop
Reconnect with nature, blow off some steam, and get a good workout along this amazing trail. Offering both lively, highly trafficked sections and secluded routes, you'll be rewarded with the best of both worlds in one hike! Whether you are breaking this trek into a two-day expedition or you are tackling this trail in one day, the scenery along this hike will not disappoint. When traveling deep into the wilderness, it is important to be mindful of wildlife! Additionally, the coastal weather varies greatly, so we encourage hikes to dress in layers as insurance against changing conditions!
Setting out from the trailhead, the Bear Valley to Glen Camp Loop follows the Bear Valley Trail. Follow this path through meadowlands and lush forests, keeping an eye out for camouflaging elk as you trek! Enjoy the sounds of Bear Valley Creek, as you make your way to Divide Meadow where you will find washrooms. From this point forward the Bear Valley Trail runs parallel to the Coast Trail. Eventually, you will reach an intersection with the Glen Trail. Veering left here, you will begin your climb towards the Glen Campground.
At the next junction, keep left onto the Glen Camp Loop to the backcountry campground. Complete the loop, then retrace your footing along the scenic routes all the way through the wilderness, back to the trailhead.
