Route Description for Valehouse Reservoir Circular
Walking the Valehouse Reservoir Circular is a popular outdoor activity in Derbyshire due to the scenic views of the surrounding moorland from across the water, as well as the well-maintained and easy-to-navigate paths. The trail sets out from the layby and heads south, crossing over the road before arriving at the edge of the reservoir. From here, you will make your way over the dam wall and head west to follow the edge of the water. After cutting across the open fields and scattered sections of woodland, follow the path between the Valehouse and Bottoms reservoirs before turning right to enter into Valehouse Wood. Enjoy the serene woodland setting, as you walk along the edge of the reservoir and experience intermittent views across the water. When you arrive back at the dam wall, follow the trail north on the return journey back toward the trailhead where you began.
