Route Description for Snake Wood Circular Walk
Located southeast of Glossop in the heart of the Peak District, the Snake Wood Circular is a fantastic family-friendly walk that will take you on a short loop through a picturesque riverside setting in the forest. Setting out from the car park, head southwest to cross over the road and enter into the dense cover of the woodland terrain. From here, you will follow the trail south along Lady Clough until you reach a crossing where the stream meets up with the River Ashop. Turn right and cross over Lady Clough, following along the river to the west as you relax in the tranquil atmosphere of the forest. When you come to a junction in the trail, follow it to the right to gain a small amount of elevation on the hillside as you head north to skirt along the edge of Lady Clough once again. After a short distance, you will come to a bridge over the stream, at which point you will cross over to the other side and follow the trail to the northeast to return to the car park where you began.
