Setting out from the trailhead next to the Fox Holes Lodge, pass through the gate and continue along the forested track as it runs alongside the edge of the reservoir. At the fork, keep to the left and pass through the kissing gate to follow the trail south through a serene stretch of forest that runs alongside the flowing waters of Wyming Brook. After crossing over a stile, enter into the forest and make your way through the trees for 0.2 km, crossing over one more stile to eventually meet up with the road. Follow this north and keep left at the fork to pass through the Redmires Plantation and cross over a bridge to arrive at the edge of the road.

Take the path to the right and cross over the stile, following it through the open terrain of the moor for 0.4 km.
