Route Description for Higger Tor Summit Circular Walk
With a combination of easy-to-navigate trails, a short overall distance, and amazing views, it is easy to see why the Higger Tor Summit Circular is such a popular route in the Sheffield area.
Setting out from the car park next to Burbage Bridge, follow the ridgeline south as you climb up the rocky terrain to the summit of Higger Tor. From this rugged hilltop perch, you will have some amazing views overlooking Carl Wark to the southeast, Hathersage and the Derbyshire countryside to the west, as well as the Burbage Valley and Burbage Moor directly to your east.
After taking in the views, follow the trail to the northwest in the direction of Stanage Edge, a rugged escarpment with some nice views overlooking the Peak District. From here, follow the trail east as it cuts across the bleak terrain of the moor on the way back to the car park next to Burbage Bridge.
