Route Description for Hartington to Wolfscote Dale
The Hartington to Wolfscote Dale Trail is a popular walking route due to its good variety of terrain and beautifully scenic views along the edge of the River Dove. Setting out from the village, the trail cuts across the open farmland to the south until you enter into the beautiful setting of the Beresford Dale National Nature Reserve. Heading a bit further south along the flowing waters of the River Dove will bring you into the Wolfscote Dale NNR, a charming riverside setting featuring several rocky outcrops and rolling green hills. After rounding Wolfscote Hill, make your way through the marshy landscape of Biggin Dale NNR and enjoy the scenic views across the countryside as you head back to the north through the fields to return to the village where you began the walk.

Getting to the Hartington to Wolfscote Dale Trailhead
To reach the starting point for the Hartington to Wolfscote Dale Walk from Newhaven, drive northwest on A515 for 0.7mi and turn left onto B5054. Follow this for 2.3mi until you arrive in the village of Hartington where the walk begins.Route Information
