Route Description for Great Tor Circular Walk
Walking the Great Tor Circular is a fantastic family-friendly adventure that will get the whole gang out on the trails exploring the rugged and beautiful terrain that can be found within Peak District National Park. Setting out from the car park next to the Yorkshire Bridge pub, cross over the road and head north towards the dam until you find the trail on the right. From here, you will begin the steep uphill climb to reach the top of Bamford Edge. Once there, you will walk along the escarpment to the south, while taking in the breathtaking views across the reservoir-filled valley to the northwest and across the moor to the east. After traversing the rugged terrain along the summit of Great Tor, follow along the path as it descends the moor towards the west on the return leg of the journey back to the car park.
