Route Description for Dovestone Reservoir Dam Walk
Although it is only a short route, the Dovestone Reservoir Dam Walk is a popular activity in the area due to the easy to navigate paths and scenic views of the surrounding Peak District. Setting out from the car park, follow the trail south along the edge of the reservoir and make your way over the spillway. From here, make your way around the southwestern portion of the reservoir and enjoy the amazing views of the nearby hills before passing between the Chew Plantation and Dovestone Reservoir Memorial Forest. Head north and cross over the stream to make your way along the eastern edge of the reservoir, while taking in some pleasant views across the water. When you have reached the dam wall, make your way across on the return portion of the walk that will bring you back to the car park.
