Route Description for Goose Creek Trail
Immerse yourself in Idaho’s wilderness, abundant with spruce, pines, aspens, wildflowers, and wildlife on the Goose Creek Hike. While this adventure is family-friendly, it is important to note that there are steep segments of terrain that demand some careful footing and climbing. Pack plenty of water to stay hydrated, and with all sorts of exploration in the area, it is important to be mindful of bears. Consider carrying bear spray, and if you do have an encounter with any sort of wildlife, be sure to admire them from a safe distance.
Your journey along the Goose Creek Hike begins from the trailhead in the Last Chance Campground. Setting out from here, you will be guided northeastward along the Goose Creek Trail. From the trailhead, the path will gradually climb through the woodlands along Goose Creek. Enjoy the relaxing sounds of the gurgling water and the mesmerizing scene. Minding your footing on the rocky terrain, you will eventually reach an intersection. Here, veer right, and you will be diverted onto the Goose Creek Falls Trail.
Soon you will reach the falls—admire the scene of the mesmerizing cascades plunging over the craggy rock wall. Continue hiking along the Goose Creek Falls Trail, and you will encounter another junction, take a sharp left, reconnecting with the Goose Creek Trail. Follow this route southwestwardly all the way back to the trailhead.
