Setting out from the trailhead, you will head to the north along the trail as it runs parallel to the road for a short distance, before following it east to enter into the dense cover of the forest. Here, you will quickly meet up with the River Wansbeck and follow its winding banks to the southeast.
Take some time to relax here while appreciating the natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere of the woodland riverside setting. Eventually, the trail will come to a junction with the edge of a road, signifying the terminus of the route. After a quick break, simply turn back along the trail and retrace your footsteps along the riverbank to return to the trailhead where you began the River Wansbeck Walk.
