If you are after an easy-going wal;king route that will still provide breathtaking views across the Northern Ireland Landscape, then you should definitely spend some time exploring the Scrabo Tower via Old Belfast Road Walk.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the south and enter into the cover of the forest, following the path as it traverses the lower slopes of Scrabo Hill. Continue along the path as it first turns to the west to take you further uphill, before completing the final ascent of the hill to the north.
Once you are at the top, you will be met with the 19th Century Scrabo Tower, as well as sweeping views of the County Down landscape, the town of Newtownards, and the open waters of Strangford Lough. After taking in the views, simply head back along the trail to retrace your route to the trailhead.
