Route Description for Rowallane Garden Walk
If you enjoy taking in the peaceful setting of a well-manicured garden and an historic estate house, then you should definitely check out the Rowallane Garden Walk. This nearly 50 acre garden offers plenty of charming greenspace to explore, allowing you to lose yourself for a few hours as you take in the beauty of the landscape.
Setting out from the car park, you will head to the south to make your way past a beautiful estate house that dates back to 1861. Here, you will find the visitor centre, a cafe, and the toilet facilities. You can also pick up an activity sheet for your walk.
Continue past the house to take in the beauty of the walled garden on your right that was originally used to grow fruit and vegetables, but was later repurposed as an ornamental garden. As you loop through the spring ground and forest, you will have some lovely views of the surrounding woodland landscape. From here, you will once again pass by the walled garden and house on the return to the car park where you began.
