Route Description for Oxford Island Kinnego Meadow Trail
Walking the Oxford Island Kinnego Meadow Trail is a fun outdoor experience that can be found in County Armagh, Northern Island and is suitable for all ages and skill levels. Featuring stunning lakeside views and the chance to explore some scenic wetlands, this is a great way to spend a few hours on the weekend.
Setting out from the trailhead at the Lough Neagh Discovery Centre, you will make your way to the southeast along the edge of the water and follow the butterfly trail markers. After passing through some charming meadows and tranquil forests, you will arrive at a swathe of wet grassland that is home to several different animal species.
As you make your way through the wetland, you will find two trails branching off to your left that will take you to a series of hides where you can sit and watch for birds. From here, continue on to the east until you arrive at the terminus of the route at the Kinnego Marina. At this point, simply retrace your steps to return to the trailhead where you started.
