Route Description for North Down Coastal Path
If you enjoy long distance walks that feature beautiful coastal scenery without much in the way of difficult terrain, then you will be sure to enjoy the North Down Coastal Path. Setting out from the trailhead near the Holywood railway station, you will make your way to the northeast past Seapark Beach, before continuing onto Seafront Road. Continuing on along the coast, you will enjoy spectacular views across Belfast Lough, before rounding Grey Point and taking in views of the fortifications there.
From here, you will keep on walking along the bays and coves that make up the coastal landscape, working your way through the city of Bangor and it’s lovely marina. Continue on as you make your way around Ballyholme Bay and Ballymacormick Point, passing through Groomsport on the way to the trail’s end at Orlock Point. Here, you can take your desired method of transportation back to the trailhead where you began.
