Route Description for Craigavon Lakes Circular Walk
Featuring serene swathes of woodland landscape and two beautiful bodies of water, the Craigavon Lakes Circular Walk offers a great opportunity to reconnect with the natural world without even leaving town. The well-maintained paths and laid back terrain makes this a perfect route for a fun family adventure.
Setting out from the trailhead off Lake Road, you will make your way north through the intermittent tree cover and head west through the forest to reach the edge of the lake. From here, you will turn back to the north and follow along the water’s edge, before crossing over a railway line to reach the second lake. Take some time to appreciate the views across the water and your woodland surroundings, as the trail bends to the west and leads you past a farm.
Continuing on along the trail, you will begin to make your way to the southwest and once again cross over the rail line to access the first of the lakes. Walking along the edge of town, you will round the southwest corner of the route and pass by a cafe, before completing the final leg of the walk through the forested Craigavon City Park.
