With a well-maintained path, easy parking, and only a small amount of elevation gain, this really is a perfect adventure to get the entire family onto the trails and enjoying nature.
Setting out from the Divis car park, you will make your way to the northeast along the track and follow it past The Barn Coffee Shop, which is an excellent place to pop in for a quick snack or drink to enjoy on your walk. From here, you will follow along the track as it climbs uphill, eventually branching off to the right onto The Ridge Trail.
After a short distance along this path, you will find yourself at the summit of Black Mountain, where you will be greeted by sweeping views across the whole of Belfast. Once you have spent enough time atop the peak taking in the natural beauty of Northern Ireland, you can simply retrace your steps to return to the car park where you began.
