Route Description for Ballykelly Forest Walk
The Ballykelly Forest Walk is a pleasant woodland adventure just outside of Ballykelly, Northern Ireland that doesn’t offer much in terms of stunning views, but will allow you to reconnect with nature in a beautiful forest setting.
From the car park, you will need to head south and cross over Clooney Road, following the path as it leads you uphill through the tree cover. From here, you will keep left and make your way through Ballykelly Forest, continuing along the path as it leads you to the southeast. Take some time to appreciate the tranquil woodland atmosphere, as you set out on a series of loops through the forest.
Head left at the next junction and make your way downhill to the north, keeping right to complete another loop along the trail that will take you to the southeast corner of the route. From there, you will turn once again to the north and pass by the same junction as you head downhill. Keeping to the left this time, you will make your way back to the west, before turning north on the return leg back to the car park.
