Featuring gorgeous valley views and the chance to explore ‘one of the prettiest villages in Yorkshire’, the Thornton-le-Dale, Ellerburn, and Longlands Lane Walk is the ideal adventure if you are looking for a relaxing weekend stroll through the countryside.
Setting out from the car park in the heart of the vil;lage, you will head to the northeast and make your way through Thornton-le-Dale, passing by the iconic, thatch-roofed Beck Isle Cottage that adorns the font of thousands of calendars around the world. From here, you will continue on to the northeast and walk along the banks of Thornton Beck, enjoying the views of the peaceful valley as you loop around to the southwest on the return back into the village.
After passing by Beck Isle Cottage once again, you will head to the southeast along a road that eventually meets up with Longlands Lane. Following this for a short distance, you will turn to the west and traverse the open countryside, before entering into a dense stretch of wood surrounding Thornton Beck. From here, you will head north along the water’s edge until you arrive back at the car park.
