If you are looking for a fantastic walking route that offers stunning views and interesting historical sites, all without leaving the comfort of the city, then the Scarborough Seafront Circular Walk is a great option for you to explore.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way east through Scarborough to reach the Rotunda Museum, continuing on along the shoreline as you take in some amazing views across South Bay that include the lighthouse, harbour, and the iconic Scarborough Castle sitting high up on the hilltop.
From here, you will continue to the northeast around the headland and enjoy some beautifully scenic views of the North Sea, before turning west to walk along North Bay Beach. Turning to the southwest, make your way gently uphill to pass through the oriental-themed Peasholm Park and continue across the city, turning to the south to eventually arrive back at the starting point of your walk.
Getting to the Scarborough Seafront Circular Walk Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Scarborough Seafront Circular Walk from east Ayton, head northeast on racecourse Road/A170 for 3.5mi and turn right onto Park Road, following it for 495ft. Make a left here onto Highfield and follow it for 450ft to reach the starting point of the walk.Route Information
