Route Description for Broxa Forest Trail
If you are after a fairly laidback adventure in the forest that will allow you to reconnect with nature and enjoy some breathtaking views across the North York Moors National Park, then you will want to give the Broxa Forest Trail a shot. Featuring coniferous plantations, mixed woodlands, and scenic viewpoints from atop Barn’s Cliff, this truly is a fantastic walk that can be enjoyed by nearly everyone.
Setting out from the car park, you will head to the west and make your way along the edge of the escarpment, enjoying the beautifully scenic views from atop Barn’s Cliff that overlooks Harwood Dale and the picturesque fields and forests of the surrounding area.
After reaching the southwest corner of the route, you will turn back to the northeast and continue on through the tree cover, taking some time to fully appreciate the tranquility of the woodland atmosphere as you make your way back towards the car park where you began your adventure along the Broxa Forest Trail.
Getting to the Broxa Forest Trail Trailhead
To get to the Broxa Forest trailhead from Scalby, head west on Hay Lane for 1.4mi and make a sharp right onto Swang Road. From here, continue on for 2.8mi to arrive at the trailhead.Route Information
