Route Description for Gibraltar Rock from Paul Lake Hike
Hiking to Gibraltar Rock from Paul Lake is a fantastic trek that will allow you to experience a variety of terrain types while taking in some amazing woodland scenery in a beautiful lakeside setting. The trail sets out from the Paul Lake Group Campsite and heads to the northeast on a route that follows closely along the edge of Paul Lake. This initial portion of the trail is a bit overgrown with tall grass but is well-tracked and more than manageable if you take your time and follow along the path. Eventually, the trail will transition into a serene forest setting before climbing uphill towards the summit of Gibraltar Rock. Once you are at the top of this distinctive rocky outcrop, you will have an amazing view looking out across Paul Lake and the surrounding woodland landscape. After taking in the views, head back along the same route to return to the trailhead where you began your hike.
Getting to the Gibraltar Rock from Paul Lake Hike Trailhead
To get to the Gibraltar Rock from Paul Lake trailhead from Kamloops, head north on BC-5 for 3.0mi and turn right onto Paul Lake Road. After 7.4mi, turn right to continue on for another 1.6mi. Make a left turn to arrive at the trailhead.Route Information
