Route Description for Drifter and Cowpoke Loop
Hiking the Drifter and Cowpoke Loop is a fun adventure that will allow you to explore several different types of terrain and experience the charming scenery that makes up the beautiful landscape of the Kamloops area. Setting out from the trailhead, follow the path to the east on a route that meanders through a marshy area before turning south through beautiful stretches of forest and meadow towards Lac Le Jeune Provincial Park. Reaching the edge of the park, the trail will turn back to the north and follow closely alongside Cowan Creek until you arrive at the shores of Stake Lake. Enjoy the amazing views across the clam waters of the lake, as you hike along its peaceful wooded shores to return back to the trailhead where you began your hike.
Getting to the Drifter and Cowpoke Loop Trailhead
To find the parking area for the Drifter and Cowpoke Loop from Kamloops, head to the southwest for 2.1mi along BC-1 and exit the highway using exit 366. Turn left after 984ft onto Copperhead Drive and keep on it for 623ft. Turn right on Lac Le Jeune Road, following it for 13.4mi before making a left onto Stake Lake Ski Trail. After 951ft you will arrive at the trailhead.Route Information
