Route Description for Roundhill Campsite Loop Walk
The Roundhill Campsite Loop Walk takes you on a wide circuit past the frontcountry Roundhill Campsite in the New Forest. Expect to walk a mixture of stunning open fields and along paths winding through beautiful woodland settings. Revel in the wildflowers elevating the brown and green-tinted scenery to the next level and the horses roaming the trees and fields. The minimal elevation gain allows you to bask in the surrounding views truly—those getting into trail running may enjoy this route, too!
Setting out from the car park, you’ll head west towards the start of the circular part of this walk. At the junction, you’ll go right to travel through an open field bordering the Hawkhill Inclosure. Continue making your way around the loop, travelling through a blend of forest and open green spaces. Near the end of the loop, you’ll walk by Roundhill Campsite before reaching the same junction that marked the start of this circular portion. From here, continue straight to follow the same path back to your car to form a lollipop route.
