Route Description for Giant Cedars Boardwalk Trail
At 0.3 km, the Giant Cedars Boardwalk Trail is more of a walk than a hike, but it still provides some exciting highlights that will make it well worth the visit. This short trail is made up of flat sections of walking path and a boardwalk, making it accessible for hikers of all skill levels; however, there are stairs along the trail, so keep that in mind if you are travelling with a stroller. Additionally, you should take care when using this trail in wet weather, as the boardwalk can become quite slippery.
As you enter into the dense canopy of the forest and onto the wooden boardwalk, you will immediately be struck by the natural beauty of the temperate rainforest landscape. In addition to the massive cedar trees that can be found along this hiking route, you will also find countless other species of plant life that are highlighted by the interpretive signs. This makes for a fun and educational hike through the woods that can be enjoyed by almost anyone, but especially young children who will be dwarfed by the immense trees. After completing the loop and exiting the tree cover, you can enjoy some partial views of the surrounding mountains before returning to your vehicle, having experienced the Giant Cedars Boardwalk Trail.
