Route Description for First Footsteps Trail
Hiking along the First Footsteps Trail is a family-friendly experience that will allow hikers to get a small taste of everything that Mount Revelstoke National Park has to offer. Walking along the trail, you will be able to take in the beauty of the woodland landscape and hike through a scenic subalpine meadow that will be filled with wildflowers in the late summer. You will also pass by several rock formations that are indicative of the mountainous landscape, but also of the region’s indigeous heritage, as many are beautifully carved with reliefs of animals. Off in the distance, you will be able to view the numerous rugged mountains that dot the park to the northeast, as well as the Columbia River and Upper Arrow Lake in the valley below.
