Route Description for Boulder Mountain Lookout
The hike up to Boulder Mountain Lookout is a pretty simple hike through the forest that will lead you up to a viewpoint that looks out over the Columbia River and the city of Revelstoke. While the trail does have an elevation gain of 190 m, it is more than manageable by hikers of all skill levels and will certainly be enjoyed by young kids. After hiking through the forest, you will eventually break out of the tree cover and be greeted by a picturesque view across the river valley. From your rocky vantage point, you will be able to spot Mount Revelstoke across the water, as well as the tall peaks of Mount Mackenzie and Mount Cartier in the background. For the effort, this is a rewarding hike that everyone can enjoy.
Getting to the Boulder Mountain Lookout Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Boulder Mountain Lookout from Revelstoke, head west along BC-1 and cross over the Columbia River. 984ft after the bridge, turn right onto Westside Road and follow it for 1.2mi. You will find the trailhead on the left side of the road.Route Information
