Of all the ways to reach Sunrise Camp, using Shadow Lakes Trail is one of the best options for families, beginner hikers, and those who just want to enjoy a more relaxed trip. With little elevation gain and nice views, this hike is a pleasant outing in Mount Rainier National Park.
From Sunrise, leave on theSunrise Rim Trail to the south. At the junction with the trail that leads to Emmons vista, keep right. At the next junction, continue straight on. The trail turns into the Wonderland Trail, where you’ll cross two creeks before winding to the shore of Shadow Lake.
