Route Description for Forest Lake via Huckleberry Creek and Sourdough Ridge
The Forest Lake via Huckleberry Creek and Sourdough Ridge hike is a great way to access Forest Lake Camp or to just enjoy the beauty of Mount Rainier National Park. We do recommend booking a site to make this into a mini backpacking trip if you can.
The hike begins from the parking area at Sunrise. Take Sourdough Ridge Trail to the junction with Huckleberry Creek Trail, where you’ll stay right. The trail switchbacks, crosses two arms of the same creek, climbs through the trees, and then arrives at Forest Lake. If you’re just day hiking, retrace your steps back to Sunrise.
Getting to the Forest Lake via Huckleberry Creek and Sourdough Ridge Trailhead
The trailhead for the Forest Lake via Huckleberry Creek and Sourdough Ridge hike is at the western terminus of Sunrise Park Road in the Sunrise area. Take Sunrise Park Road through all the hairpin turns and park in the lot.Route Information
