Route Description for Umbrella and Sahale Falls Hike
Featuring not one, but two stunning waterfalls, the Umbrella and Sahale Falls Hike is the perfect day-hike for those who want to experience the beauty of Mount Hood National Park. Located next to Mt. Hood Meadows, there is plenty of parking that is easily accessible.
Setting out from the southeast corner of the main parking lot, you will follow Umbrella Falls Trail #667 as it leads into the tree cover. Here, you will quickly arrive at the site of Umbrella Falls, where you can take in the majesty of the 60ft tall cascade.
Continuing on to the southeast, you will keep right along the path as it leads through the peaceful woodland landscape and arrives at a junction with a path leading down to Sahale Falls. As mentioned above, it is quite a steep path to get down to the base, so you will need to make the trek down at your own risk. After taking in the beauty of the falls, simply retrace your steps to return to the trailhead.
