Route Description for Bald Mountain from Lolo Pass Hike
The Bald Mountain from Lolo Pass Hike is a great outdoor experience in Mount Hood National Forest that will showcase some beautiful stretches of the Oregon landscape. Be aware that downed trees are often encountered along the trail and may make travel a bit more difficult.
Setting out from the trailhead on Lolo Pass Road, you will make your way south along the PCT and immediately begin climbing uphill. After a few switchbacks, the trail will bend to the southeast and continue along a ridgeline, before arriving at a junction short of the summit of Bald Mountain.
Here, you will complete a loop around the summit of Balm Mountain, enjoying stunning views of the surrounding landscape in the process. After arriving back at the junction with the PCT, simply follow it back down to the trailhead where you began your adventure on the Bald Mountain from Lolo Pass Hike.
