Route Description for Assiniboine Lodge to Nub Peak Loop Hike
Hiking the Assiniboine Lodge to Nub Peak Loop is a popular trail in Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park, as it leads you up to an amazing summit viewpoint, but then provides an alternate route back to the trailhead for a bit of a change in scenery. While out on the trail, you will head to the southwest to skirt along the shores of Lake Magog before turning to the northwest once you hit the Lake Magog Campground. From here, you will pass by the picturesque waters of the Sunburst and Cerulean lakes, keeping left and climbing up the hillside to arrive at Elizabeth Lake. Enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains, as you continue to the northwest and make the steep climb up the summit of Nub Peak. Once there, you will enjoy panoramic views of neighbouring peaks, such as Sunburst Peak and Mount Assiniboine to the south. From here, you will head to the southeast and make your descent along the ridgeline, traversing stretches of forest and open meadow on the return to Assiniboine Lodge.
