Route Description for The StairMaster via Moab Rim Trail
The StairMaster Trail is a fantastic little subsection of the Moab Rim Trail just outside of Moab, UT. This trail lives up to its name—be prepared for a steep, consistent climb all the way to the top. There is an OHV/ATV trail that runs parallel to the hikers trail that can get noisy throughout the day. We recommend giving this hike a go early in the morning to enjoy some peace and quiet while you get your steps in. We promise that the views from this trail are way better than anything you’ll see from the stairmaster at the gym. From this trail, you will get gorgeous views of the La Sal Mountains, Moab Valley, and even Arches National Park way in the distance.
From the Moab Rim Trailhead, follow the path as it heads northeast. There are two trails here that run parallel to each other—we recommend sticking to the hikers trail for a more adventurous experience. After approximately 1.4 km, the two trails will join together at a fantastic viewpoint.
Take a well-deserved rest at this overlook and catch your breath before heading back down following the same trail.
