Route Description for Romero Canyon Trail
The Romero Canyon Hike would make an excellent addition to your adventure itinerary. Suitable for intermediate hikers and families with older children, this adventure will get your heart rate up without over-exhausting you! Get outside and reconnect with nature as you venture deep into the wilderness of the foothills. This wonderful hike travels over rocky terrain, so a sturdy pair of footwear is a must! Note much of the hike is exposed, so be sure to layer on the SPF.
Setting out from the trailhead, the Romero Canyon Trail travels north along the Romero Canyon Road. Soon after your departure, you will cross Romero Creek and confront an intersection, keep right here on Romero Canyon Road before diverting left onto the Lower Romero Trail at the following junction. Now traveling north along the creek, you will be guided up the canyon to another intersection which boats wonderful views of the encompassing mountains, Santa Barbara, and the ocean.
After reveling in the views, turn right onto the Romero Canyon Road, redirecting you southwardly and ultimately returning to the trailhead.
