A short overall distance and beautiful scenery make the Riverside Trail to Vista Viewpoint a great bang for our buck hike if you are looking to explore some of the outdoor space in Los Angeles.
Setting out from the trailhead on Vermont Canyon Drive, you will make your way to the east along the Riverside Trail as it cuts across the hilly landscape of Griffith Park. Although there will be a few small ups and downs along this route, it is a very well-maintained path that makes walking a real pleasure.
Eventually, you will pass by Glendale Peak on your left and keep right along the road to quickly arrive at the Vista Viewpoint, where you will enjoy a great sightline across L.A. After taking in the views, simply head back along the same trail to return to the trailhead.
