Route Description for Hogback Trail to Mount Hollywood
If you are after a straightforward adventure in Los Angeles that features some beautiful views of the Southern California landscape as well as the city, then the Hogback Trail to Mount Hollywood is the ideal route for you.
Setting out from the parking lot, you will head southwest across the road to reach the Fern Canyon Trailhead. Here, you will follow the Fern Canyon Trail as it initially leads southwest, before turning east to reach the 5 Points viewpoint. From here, the path will turn back to the southwest to meet up with Vista del Valle Drive.
Turning right along the road, you will follow it west past Vista Viewpoint, shortly after which you will pick up the Hogback Trail on your left. Continuing on to the northwest, you will traverse the slopes of Glendale Peak, eventually arriving at the summit of Mount Hollywood. Take some time here to appreciate the sweeping views, before turning back along the same trail to return to the trailhead.
