Route Description for Luss Heritage Trail
The Luss Heritage Trail presents a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National park while also taking in a historical village. Excellent paths pave the way on this short trail that weaves through the pretty village of Luss, taking in its lovely stone cottages and historic buildings. The walk features some steps, but the majority of the trail unfolds on flat ground.
Nestled in the shadow of the hills, Luss is a village steeped in history and legends. Its position on the shore of Loch Lomond adds to its beauty and charm, and this short walk is the perfect way to experience it. The walk leads through the village itself before heading through woodlands to join the River Path. You’ll take in historic sites along the way, like the town church built in 1875 and a cemetery with gravestones dating back to the 7th-century. The final stretch of the walk leads you lochside, where you can enjoy the Luss Pier before completing the circuit and taking in the model village, populated with beautiful stone cottages. The circular route leads back to the Luss Visitors Center Car Park, where the walk began.
