Route Description for Ben Donich via Rest and Be Thankful Walk
Begin the Ben Donich via Rest and Be Thankful Walk from the car park where you’ll spot Ben Donich in full view ahead. The ascent is straightforward and invites you to follow the path uphill to pass through a stretch of trees. Later on, you’ll pass through a gated fence which marks the beginning of a steeper climb. As you continue the trail, savour the views that unfold at your back, with Rest and Be Thankful and Loch Restil looking majestic in the distance. Continue up the grassy slopes, winding towards the summit, with the mighty Cobbler coming into view as you traverse an undulating stretch. The terrain soon becomes exceptionally rocky, and it’s here that a scramble or two may be necessary. Continue to the summit, where you’ll revel in fine views of Ben Lomond, Beinn Ime, and Beinn Narnain. To descend, retrace your steps to return to the car park where the walk began.
