Route Description for Boiling Springs Lake Loop Trail
Sections of the Boiling Springs Lake Loop Trail lack shade and so we therefore recommend protecting yourself from the effects of the sun with sunscreen and a good hat. Likewise - especially during the springtime - the bugs along the route can become rather prolific, so it is suggested that you bring bug repellent and wear long sleeves and pants.
Having parked your vehicle, follow the Devil’s Kitchen Trail as it makes its way southwest. Almost immediately you will arrive at a junction within the trail, where you are to take the southern pathway across Hat Springs Creek. Once you have crossed the initial creek, you will arrive at a second junction where you will take the eastern pathway onto Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail.
Stay along the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail as it heads southeast, passing by several trail junctions as it goes. With Boiling Springs Lake in sight, the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail will arrive at a junction where going in either direction will circumvent the lake. No matter the direction you choose to navigate around the lake, the trail will bring you back to the northshore of the lake, where all you need to do to return to the trailhead is backtrack your steps.
