Big Leaf Pool and Lower Deer Creek Falls Trail is a stunning route within Lassen National Forest. A family-friendly route, the trail takes you alongside charming Deer Creek and through a picturesque forested area that is characteristic of the terrain found within Lassen National Forest.

Route Description for Big Leaf Pool and Lower Deer Creek Falls Trail

Sections of Big Leaf Pool and Lower Deer Creek Falls Trail are not along a designated Lassen National Forest pathway and so care should be taken when attempting. We strongly recommend bringing some sort of mapping tool along with you to help with wayfinding. While dogs are allowed along the route, keep in mind that ticks are prevalent and so it is important that you check yourself and your furry friends after completing the hike!

With your vehicle parked along Highway 32, follow the trail as it makes its way adjacent to the northern shore of Deer Creek. The Big Leaf Pool and Lower Deer Creek Falls Trail continues along the shoreline of Deer Creek for its entire extent, passing Lower Deer Creek Falls approximately halfway through. Once you have reached the end of Big Leaf Pool and Lower Deer Creek Falls (located close to Lassen Trail), backtrack your steps towards the trailhead.
