Sections of Big Leaf Pool and Lower Deer Creek Falls Trail are not along a designated Lassen National Forest pathway and so care should be taken when attempting. With your vehicle parked along Highway 32, follow the trail as it makes its way adjacent to the northern shore of Deer Creek. The Big Leaf Pool and Lower Deer Creek Falls Trail continues along the shoreline of Deer Creek for its entire extent, passing Lower Deer Creek Falls approximately halfway through. Once you have reached the end of Big Leaf Pool and Lower Deer Creek Falls (located close to Lassen Trail), backtrack your steps towards the trailhead.
