Hiking the Pope Baldwin Bike Path is a wonderful experience. If you are seeking a relaxing, easy-going adventure, then you will surely love this trek. Lined with looming pines and wildflowers, there is no shortage of scenery to enjoy along this short route. Note this is a popular hike, so head out in the early morning to beat the crowds for a more secluded adventure.
Setting out from the trailhead, the Pope Baldwin Bike Path follows the 15th Street Bike Path east. In the company of several other adventurers, there will be plenty of like-minded people to socialize with along the way! Lined with towering pines, enjoy the sweet smell of the pines as you hike. Soon you will pass the Tallac Historic Site before reaching the Truckee Marsh.
Continue hiking this scenic route all the way to the path’s end at 15th Street. To get back to the trailhead, simply retrace your footing along the route. If time permits, we suggest taking a quick detour and exploring the Tallac Historic Site.
