Route Description for Middle Fell, Seatallan, and Buckbarrow Walk
The Middle Fell, Seatallan, and Buckbarrow Walk follows a rough and rugged Lake District route that is popular as a means to catch dome scenic views of Wast Water and the imposing fells that can be found just beyond it to the east. The trail sets out from The Sawmill Wasdale and crosses the open farmland to the northeast before beginning the steep climb up to the summit of Middle Fell. Here, you will enjoy some beautiful views overlooking Wast Water, as you continue around the loop to the back of Seatallan. Here, you will make the steep ascent of this rugged peak and receive breathtaking views of the surrounding fells, including Scafell Pike to the East. From here, you will make your way down the front side of the fell and traverse the barren landscape on the way to Buckbarrow Fell. After enjoying some final views over the valley from the escarpment, make your way down the hillside to pass through Nether Wasdale on the return to the trailhead where you began your adventure.
