The Lonscale Fell Walk is a popular route near Keswick that is well-suited for a variety of outdoor enthusiasts in the Lake District. The route sets out from the banks of the River Greta and heads through Keswick, allowing you to experience the bustle of the city before transitioning into the open terrain north of the city. From here, you will climb up the slopes of Lonscale Fell to reach the viewpoint at the summit, where you will enjoy sweeping views across the breathtaking Lake District landscape. After taking in the sights of the surrounding fells, Derwent Water, and the city of Keswick below, follow the trail downhill to return to the trailhead where you began your adventure.
Getting to the Lonscale Fell Walk Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Lonscale Fell Walk from the Keswick Adventure Centre, head south on Carding Mill Lane and turn left onto Main Street, following it for 0.1mi. At the roundabout, take the third exit to continue on Main Street for another 250ft. Make a slight right onto The Headlands and follow it for 417ft, continuing straight onto Crow Park Road for another 312ft. Turn right and you will reach the car park in 0.1mi.Route Information
