Route Description for Legburthwaite Circular Walk
Walking the Legburthwaite Circular is a fantastic family-friendly adventure that is best known for its beautifully scenic views overlooking the waters of Thirlmere. Setting out from the trailhead, the route will initially take you to the northwest to cross How Beck before turning to the south to walk the forested slopes of Great How on the way to Thirlmere. From here, you will enjoy some beautiful views across the lake as you continue south along the shore, eventually turning east to pass through the Swirls car park on the way up the hillside. Follow the trail north and make your way across the undulating terrain of the hillside, enjoying the scenic views until you eventually arrive back at the trailhead where you began your walk.

To reach the trailhead for the Legburthwaite Circular Walk from Keswick, make your way east on Penrith Road for 5.2mi and turn left onto Back Lane. Follow this for 233ft to arrive at the trailhead.Route Information
