Setting out from the trailhead at the Howtown Landing, follow the trail west along the edge of Ullswater and skirt around the foot of Hallin Fell while enjoying some beautiful views across the water. The charming scenery will be a constant fixture throughout this walk, so take your time as you walk along the water’s edge and enjoy the lakeside atmosphere. After crossing over Sandwick Beck, you will traverse some rugged terrain and sections of forest at the foot of Low Birk Fell before following the trail south around the tip of the lake. Here, you will pass by Side Farm Campsite and cross over Goldrill Beck before arriving at the end point of the trail in Glenridding.
