Walking the Grange Fell and GReat Crag Circular is a popular Lake District activity, as it allows you to explore the village of Watendlath and take in some beautiful views of the surrounding English countryside. The trail sets out from the village and heads to the southwest along the charming shores of Watendlath Tarn, passing through the peaceful forests of the Bracken Plantation as you begin the uphill climb to the summit of Great Crag. After enjoying the views overlooking Borrowdale, you will make your way to the northwest to traverse a rugged stretch of terrain that will take you to the top of Grange Fell. Here, you will be able to take in some more views of the surrounding Lakeland region, before making your way back downhill to the village where you began your walk.
Getting to the Grange Fell and Great Crag Circular Walk Trailhead
To reach the trailhead for the Grange Fell and Great Crag Circular Walk from Keswick, head to the southeast on Borrowdale Road/B5289 for 1.7mi and make a slight left to continue on for another 0.7mi. Turn right here and follow the road 2.1mi before making a slight left to arrive at the carpark.Route Information
