Route Description for Glenridding Dodd Walk
Although the terrain can be a bit rough and boggy in certain areas, the Glenridding Dodd Walk is a popular trail because of the breathtaking views overlooking Ullswater to the northeast. While out on the trail, you will climb up the steep, lightly-wooded hillside until you arrive at the summit of Glenridding Dodd, where you will enjoy a great sightline across the blue waters of the lake. Continuing on to the west, the trail will dip briefly, before climbing up to the higher elevation point atop the summit of Sheffield Pike. Here, you will have an even better vantage point overlooking the lake and nearby fells. After taking in the views, continue west to begin your descent, eventually turning to the southeast alongside Swart Beck. After zig-zagging your way down the hillside, follow the trail east to return to the starting point of the walk in Glenridding.
