Route Description for Ennerdale Water Circular Walk
Walking the Ennerdale Water Circular is a popular activity for beginner walkers and families with children due to the scenic lakeside views and good variety of terrain that provides a bit of a challenge. Setting out from the car park, the trail will take you along the western shore of the lake that has a few stretches of rocky terrain below Crag Fell that will need to be navigated. Take your time in these areas and enjoy the views across the calm waters of the lake before making your way across the valley floor to cross the River Liza. From here, you will head to the northwest and pass through the Bowness Plantation, before rounding the edge of the lake on the return part of the walk back to the car park.
