Route Description for Ennerdale Walk
The Ennerdale Walk is a popular activity in the western part of the Lake District due to its beautiful views of the lake and surrounding fells, as well as its relaxed terrain. The trail will take you from a car park at the foot of a hill towards the edge of Ennerdale Water. Here, you will enjoy some beautiful views across the calm surface of the lake, as you continue to the southeast to the point where the water narrows and becomes the River Liza. Here, you will continue along the river bank and enjoy the views of the imposing fells that flank you on either side. Reaching a bridge, turn right and make your way across the river, turning right once again to head back towards the lake along the western bank of the river. Shortly after crossing Woundell Beck, turn right and follow the track across the open terrain, bearing left to get back onto your original trail that will take you back along the edge of the lake to the car park where you started.
