Route Description for Claife Heights Circular Walk
Walking the Claife Heights Circular is a popular activity in the Lake District, as it features relatively easy to manage terrain and beautiful views of Windermere and nearby fells. As mentioned above, plan ahead when setting out on this walk and be sure to bring water-resistant boots and clothing to fight off the rain. The trail sets out from the village of Far Sawrey and climbs uphill to the northeast to traverse the woodland terrain along the slopes of Scale Ivy and High Blind How. In the intermittent breaks in the tree cover, you will enjoy beautiful views of the waters of Windermere in the valley below. Continue along the trail as it loops around Scale Head and turns to the south to pass by Wise Een Tarn, The Scale Tarn, and Moss Eccles Tarn on the return leg back to the starting point of the walk.
