Route Description for Bowness on Windermere Circular Walk

Walking the Bowness on Windermere Circular is a popular Lake District activity for those that are visiting the charming village and are looking to escape the crowds for a bit of solitude on the trails. The route sets out from the car park along the shores of Windermere and passes through the village, climbing gently uphill to traverse some intermittent stretches of woodland terrain. After passing by several small ponds and skirting around the edge of the Windermere Golf Club, you will enjoy some pleasant views overlooking the lake as you descend back towards the edge of the water where you began your adventure.

Getting to the Bowness on Windermere Circular Walk Trailhead

To reach the car park for the Bowness on Windermere Circular Walk from Windermere, drive southeast on Elleray Road for 0.1mi and continue onto Crescent Road for another 1.2mi. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the A592 and follow it for 0.2mi. Turn right onto Glebe Road and you will find the car park on the right in 0.2mi.
